Welcome to Strata
Turn any model into a colour-banded 3MF you can print — gradients, retro stripes, optical blends and light-shaded looks, ready for Bambu printers or the Snapmaker U1.
⚡ FASTEST START
Just tap 🎲 Surprise me — it picks a random style & matching filaments instantly. Keep tapping till you like what you see.
Or build it yourself: 1 · Model — load your own STL/3MF & pick your printer 2 · Presets — pick a ready-made look 3 · Colours — or choose your own filaments 4 · Style — stripes, blends, shading… ⬇ Export — grab the 3MF and slice it
The boat on screen is just a demo — load your own model before printing.

Your file is saved. A few things to know:
Colours appear after you slice. The model may look single-colour when you first open it in your slicer — the colour changes show up once it's sliced.
Check your slicer settings. Make sure your filament slots / colours match what you intended, and check the filament types and layer heights are set correctly.
Tested in Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer & SnOrca.
Use the latest Bambu Studio. Older versions may not read the embedded colour data correctly — update before importing.

💡 Shades the model into stepped tones between colour 1 (shadow) and colour 2 (light), based on a virtual light. Great on organic models — a digital version of Prusa's ColorMix shading, aimed at the U1.

⚠ Testing — exports painted per-face shading via Mesh Colours (best in OrcaSlicer / SnOrca). Each distinct tone becomes a filament slot; see the Tool-changes estimate. The FullSpectrum virtual-mixed-filament version comes later.
Surface Texture
Light areas push out, dark areas stay flat. Tiled across the surface — grayscale patterns work best.
⚠ This model is too dense to texture safely (it would tear). Texture works best on simpler models with headroom to subdivide. Try decimating the model first, or skip texture on this one.
Displaces the actual mesh so the texture prints. The model is auto-subdivided for detail; very high depth can distort thin features.
